The Six Year Itch

This was a great week for the United States and its electorate. Everyone, from democrat to republican including independents were able to see the whoring out of politicians in Washington over the immigration bill.  Of course, only in our US Senate would you find this type of back stabbing, lying and deceit passed off as statemenship. Yes, I know, I'm being too harse, too extreme in my criticism, the accusation is just too much. Well, call it whatever you want, I really don't care. This past two weeks I've been called a rascist, bigot, nativist, stupid, either directly or indirectly. It might have hurt my feelings if it wasn't for the fact that the typical political scum (elected and others) were making the charges. For those of you wondering why certain Senators seemed to risk alot to support a completely asinine immigration bill it is very simple. The only way John McCain believed he could win in 2008 was to get this bill to pass. And it was under McCain's extremely stupid and ill-planned strategy (gee, what a surprise, see McCain-Feingold), you saw other Senators placing their chips.
There is only one republican presidential candidate that would have benefited from a similar hispanic turnout (percentage wise) enjoyed by Bush. That would have been McCain, of course being campaigned for by Bush in 2008. Yes, McCain's support for Bush in the war does come at a price. Would this allow McCain to win the White House? Maybe or maybe not, but it would certainly push him through the primaries and off to the most shameless pandering to hispanics the US has ever seen in a Presiential Election. Of course, McCain needs a VP/skirt to run with, why not a southern bell like Graham from South Carolina? This may explain why Graham came off as McCain's jester for the earlier filabuster and then this amnesty bill.
Also, is it any wonder why some media elites were almost hysterical in their denouncing of the bill's opponents? Denying them of their favorite politician in becoming president.

Of course, I could be wrong, maybe McCain, Graham and the other republican senators are just incompetent and should be replaced by anyone who can read the english language.
